TEK is equipped to perform DOT physicals and comprehensive firefighter physicals according to NFPA guidelines. Our offered services include the following:

Complete Physical Examination – Including extensive review of medical history, vision/hearing screening, vital signs, physical exam, and urinalysis.

Blood Work – Includes CBC, blood chemistry, and cholesterol. PSA, Hepatitis B immunity titer, and other tests are also available.

Audiometric Hearing Evaluation – Comparison to thresholds per OSHA standards.

EKG, with interpretation.

Respiratory Clearance – Evaluation of the respiratory clearance form, coupled with pulmonary function testing.

Respirator Fit Testing, within OSHA guidelines.

Tuberculosis Mantoux Test (PPD), with subsequent reading in 48-72 hours.

Urine Drug Screen and breath alcohol testing, including medical review.

Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Influenza vaccines are also available.

Charts and blood work will be evaluated by a licensed, registered Physician Assistant and NYS licensed Physician. The member’s level of clearance (Interior/Exterior/Fire Police) will be forwarded to the designated Fire Officer. EKG copies, lab results, and any appropriate recommendations will be sent to each member.
